Description
This course will examine the impact of trauma on children and youth with an emphasis on developing an understanding of how adverse childhood experiences affect children’s development. Trauma will be defined along with the common causes of chronic and acute trauma in children and youth. The characteristics of chronic and acute trauma in children will be analyzed and the potential impact on engagement in school and in learning experiences will be considered.
